FAQs

  • How Long Does a Roof Maxx Treatment Take?

The duration of a Roof Maxx treatment can range from as little as 30 minutes to a few hours, depending on the size and condition of your roof. Our local technicians will provide a customized estimate after an initial assessment of your roof’s condition.

For smaller roofs in good repair, the process may take just half an hour. If your roof requires preparatory work, such as debris removal, sealing of exposed nails, or securing loose flashing, the treatment could take a few hours. If there are existing issues like leaks, we’ll identify them, recommend solutions, and then proceed with the treatment.

Remember, Roof Maxx is an eco-friendly spray designed to prolong the life of your asphalt roof by restoring its flexibility. So, the treatment duration varies. Reach out to us to schedule an assessment and get a precise estimate for your roof.

  • When Should I Treat My Asphalt Shingles with Roofmaxx?

When to treat asphalt shingles with Roof Maxx?

Treat asphalt shingles with Roof Maxx when they show signs of drying or losing flexibility, usually between 5-25 years. However, we regularly service roofs that are 20+ years old and have been successful in extending the life of roofs up to 30 years old or even older.

Why do asphalt roofs start drying out and becoming brittle?

The rate at which this happens can vary, and it depends on factors such as regional climate and the intensity of UV ray exposure. Many roofs are primed for a Roof Maxx treatment by the time they reach 5 – 25 years of age. If your roof is older and has not been treated yet, don’t worry. It’s not unusual for older roofs to have undergone some repairs prior to us being called in to treat them. We’ve often managed to revitalize older asphalt shingles and extend their lifespan by restoring their flexibility.

How to identify if your roof shingles are losing flexibility?

The primary sign is a loss of flexibility in the shingles. Asphalt shingles contain asphalt granules – small, sand-like pebbles that stick together when the shingle’s natural oils are present. As these oils start to dry out over time, the granules begin flaking off, often appearing in your gutters or downspouts. Additional signs your roof may be drying out include black stains or streaks, and shingles that crack, break, or curl.

Each roof is unique, so we advise having a local dealer evaluate if your roof is an appropriate candidate for Roof Maxx treatment.

  • Is Roofmaxx Safe?

Absolutely! Roof Maxx is safe for people, pets, property, and the surrounding environment. It’s been recognized as a USDA BioPreferred product, underlining its eco-friendly credentials. Roof Maxx is a scientifically formulated, natural, safe, plant-based roof rejuvenating spray treatment that was developed by the world’s largest private research and development company.

Roof Maxx revitalizes aging shingles by restoring their flexibility capabilities by using millions of microbeads, much like a skin moisturizer. Roof Maxx is absorbed by shingles but can be easily rinsed off other surfaces. Roof Maxx is entirely absorbed within 30 minutes. Additionally, Roof Maxx is non-flammable, thus it does not increase the risk of fire or flame spread.

  • Will a Roof Maxx Treatment Void My Shingle Warranty?

We know how important the roof over your head is – it protects one of your biggest investments. It’s also why shingle manufacturers cover their products. That’s why Roof Maxx offers our own warranty. Your Roof Maxx treatment does not affect your shingle warranty and is still valid even if your manufacturer’s warranty is (or becomes) void due to time or transfer restrictions. This is not a warranty against leaks from faulty installation or other damage sustained by the roof (hail, high winds).

We’ve treated over 100,000,000 square feet of roofs with no indication that applying Roof Maxx to asphalt shingles will void or limit any sort of warranty – nor have we ever heard of a manufacturer’s warranty claim being denied because Roof Maxx was applied.

Roof Maxx has carefully analyzed and received numerous legal opinions from leading construction and contract attorneys regarding the scope of the warranties of all major shingle manufacturers and the largest shingle manufacturer has formally stated that coatings/penetrants applied to their shingles do not void their warranty.
